Interview Tips
Before actually attending an interview the are a few basic tasks that everyone should perform:- Research the company you are attending an interview with
- Research the types of interview questions you might be asked - Technical / Behavioural
- Research the location of the interview and how long it is going to take you to get there
- Think about some intelligent / relevant questions to ask them
Getting prepared for the interview:- Unless otherwise pre-arranged make sure you dress appropriately
- Remember to turn your phone off or to silent before entering the interview
- Make sure you have clean clothes and smell fresh - First impressions count
- Remember any documentation you might require on the day
Arriving for the interview- It is common courtesy to arrive no more than 10 minutes early and never late
- If you are going to be late make sure you call in advance and let someone know
Once in the interview- A firm hand shake and eye contact on greeting the interviewer is recommended
- Be aware of your body language, try not to sit with your arms and legs crossed
- Listen to the question you are being asked - If necessary ask for it to be repeated
- Try to answer the questions as directly as possible - Do not go off on tangents
- If you speak quickly - Slow down so you can be understood clearly
- If you do not know the answer to a question do not try and bluff your way through
- Be clear and precise in your answers
- Be ready with your questions for the interviewer
At the end of the interview- Thank them for their time
- Shake hands
