Resume Guide
A resume should be simple, clean, informative and succinct. It is your ticket to getting in front of a potential employer for interview.- It is best to avoid table formats that can get reformatted between one system and another.
- 3-6 pages should be enough to display your relevant experience to the job being applied for.
- Simple layouts displaying Name, Address, Education, Awards, Companies worked for, Dates of employment with each company, Technical Skills, Responsibilities, Achievements, Interests, Hobbies.
- Think about what the employer is looking for in relation to your experience and the job you are applying for.
- Avoid graphics and images in a resume unless it is critical to the job applied for
- Attention to detail particularly spelling mistakes is critical
